Buying a race entry
Here's how it works when you buy a race entry on our platform.
1. Find the right race entry
Browse available race entries or use the search function to find a specific race.
2. Create an account
To buy a race entry, you need an account. Register by clicking "Log in" and then "Create account". Verify your email to complete the registration.
3. Pay securely
Choose the race entry you want to buy and complete the payment through our secure payment solution Stripe. You pay the seller's price for the entry plus a dynamically set service fee based on the listing price (minimum 40 SEK). For most races, there's a name change fee that is paid directly to the race organizer. Whether the seller or buyer pays this fee is clearly shown at checkout on bytastartplats.se.
4. Wait for the name change
After completing the purchase, the seller receives a notification to complete the name change within 32 hours. You'll get updates in "My Profile" and via email when the name change is complete.
5. Confirm receipt
When the seller has marked the name change as complete, you have 32 hours to confirm receipt of the race entry. Confirmation is done in "My Profile" under "Your Purchases". If something is wrong, report the issue immediately by using the "Report Problem" button. After your confirmation, or if you don't report any problem within 32 hours, the payment is automatically transferred to the seller's bank account.
6. Participate in the race!
Now the race entry is yours – good luck!
Important points to remember
Automatic deadlines
To ensure smooth transactions, we have deadlines. If a seller misses their name change deadline, an automatic refund is issued to the buyer and the listing is paused.
After the name change has been completed by the seller, the buyer has 32 hours to confirm receipt of the race entry. If confirmation doesn't occur within the deadline and the buyer hasn't reported any problems with the sale, payment is automatically made to the seller.

We send email notifications for all important steps in the process. Check your inbox and spam folder regularly, especially for emails from info@bytastartplats.se.
Is it legal to transfer race entries?
Yes, it's legal to transfer race entries, but the rules differ between races. On bytastartplats.se, you can only sell entries to races that have an official name change process. We approve which races are available on the platform, and only these are shown as selectable categories when you create a listing. Is a race that allows name changes missing? Contact us at support@bytastartplats.se and we'll review your request.
How secure is it to buy or sell on the platform?
We use secure payment via Stripe and the money is held safely until the buyer confirms they've received the race entry. Automatic systems protect against fraud and ensure deadlines are met.
What happens if the name change can't be completed?
If the name change can't be completed within the specified time, an automatic refund is issued to the buyer. The seller can then choose to reactivate the listing or remove it permanently.
How much does it cost to use the platform?
The buyer pays a service fee of at least 40 SEK in addition to the race entry price. When paying out to the seller, a seller fee of at least 40 SEK is deducted from the listing price. Service fees are dynamic based on the listing price. Any name change fees for buyers or sellers are paid separately directly to the organizer.
